Osaka: Umeda and the fantastic view of the city

Today, we explored the bustling Umeda area, containing the huge a osaka railway station, famous department stores (Hankyu and Hanshin buildings) and the Umeda Sky building.

While wandering, we got lost around many shopping centres full of clothes stores mainly. Around the station was a picturesque fountain, where children were playing and decided to walk through it bare foot.

When we found the Umeda sky building (which was easy as it is 40 storeys high), we struggled to find the correct entrance which wasn’t for business people. Eventually, we went in the ‘fun fun’ sliding door to the 3rd floor then into an elevator to the 35th floor and onto diagonal escalator across the building in the open to the 39th floor. The Umeda Sky building is a futuristic and unusual structure, which is two glass-and-steel towers linked at the top, from which the ‘Floating Observatory’ provides an amazing panoramic view of Osaka city and the surrounding views.
